Frequently Asked Questions

Are any of the classes beginner-friendly?

All of our classes can be beginner-friendly! When you book, just let us know that you’re new to yoga and we’ll let your teacher know. They’ll slow some things down and make sure to thoroughly explain the movements.

I’ve never done yoga before—what should I wear?

Comfort is key. Stretchy leggings, yoga pants, or workout shorts allow you to move without restricting your movement. Bare feet, no shoes are needed! Depending on the type of class you’re taking, you may work up more of a sweat, so workout-style tank tops, sports bras, or t-shirts can help you stay cool. Avoid chafing, tight-fitting clothing that restricts your movement.
At the end of our classes, we practice the pose “savasana”, where you lay on your mat in stillness and rest with your eyes closed. We encourage people to get comfy for this, so feel free to bring a pair of socks and a sweater if that would make you more comfortable!

I’ve never done yoga before—what should I bring?

Most of the items you’ll need for your class are provided, including bolsters, bands, and weights, depending on the class. We also have yoga mats available if you don’t have your own.

We always recommend that you bring a water bottle to class (we do have some available for purchase as well, if you forget.) A pair of socks and a sweater may help you feel more cozy in savasana, but are not required.

It’s always nice to feel prepared when you try something new, but don’t stress if you forget something. We’re here to help!

Do I need to have my own yoga mat?

If you have one you like, bring it with you, but you don’t need one to get started. We have yoga mats available which are free to use.

Do I need to book ahead of time?

Technically, you can just show up, but there are advantages to pre-registering. Signing up ahead of time saves your space and allows us to notify you if there is a delay or cancellation. It also makes it more likely that you’ll keep your commitment to yourself!
